Countdown

Going for the Merdeka countdown my school is doing now. Will update this post soon

(update)

Havock!

Mad rush
With ought further ado on with the celebrations! It was better than expected with plenty of food, drink ,merry making, which included singing and dancing to toned down patriotic songs in conservative blazers which surprisingly led to mass havoc and chaos. It seems that the spirit of ‘Merdeka’ had gotten into the boys, possessed is the word. Man it was one crazy night and we threw all inhibitions to the wind. Laughing and basking in the spirit of patriotism.

To take pics!

One of the many stalls!
Well the day started of well with a bazaar of sorts where each company pushed their own wares as well as the sejarah club (the only club allowed to monopoly the event as the planers were of course the history club. Well all I can say is that the best stall award can only go to company Golf for their delicious Kebabs which I felt as a little overpriced at Rm2. Well like the concept where they fried the ready meat with lettuce and out into a hot bun. Hmmmm... Burnt about 4 ringgit on this delicacy. What to say, boys out to make a quick buck. Well liked the history clubs ice-blended drinks at Rm1 was a steal. I liked the fact they added chocolate sauce to the mix Yummy.

Merdeka!

Yeah drunked bastards.
After eating our fill we were treated with a host of boring songs and skits. Well spent that period of time just sitting there starring into space. Well all the fun started with the countdown when fireworks were launched and we spent the next hour dancing and singing like mad men to the up beat music of Malaysia’s patriotic songs. Well above my expectations. Enjoyed the event a lot. Spent like about 6 bucks on food today. Well worth the money. Well it was wild missing only the best of liquor. lol. Well the only slack thing about this whole affair is that tomorrow is a PUBLIC holiday yet we have no holiday! It is the first day of extra classes on my schools holiday that will replace the holiday that other schools had. Confused? I am to. I don’t seem to understand my schools hatred of holidays. What is the problem of having fun? Anyways my holiday starts next tues day on the 5th. Well get like about 5 days worth of holidays. Bersyukurlah Boy.(quote staff mess)

Im standing on the chairs head and the rest on the chairs

Well got to sleep early. Got class tomorrow. So to the rest of Malaysia. Enjoy your holiday ok? Forget about me. Have fun go frolic and be merry leave me be here…

Sob

Merdeka!

Selamat Hari Merdeka!

A few hours to go before we celebrate Merdeka again.

I love you Malaysia!

A Burmese Immigrant with his two prized chicken...

Let me tell you a story.

This woman, which was a rich person back in her home country. She owns a emerald and precious stone mine where she was borned. Government ruling state that you could only clear, say, 10 trees a day to explore new land for your mining business. One day, the government official came and said she has cut down 11 trees. This was good enough reason for this military government to confiscate her land, her home and her life.

cut and polished emerald that cost lives to be produced

For months, she live like an outcast in her own land, all her material gain was taken from her. She lived like a convict in her own land and she ended up a squatter in her own homeland.

And so, enough is enough, she took out all her savings that the military did not take from her, all USD6k of it. She paid an agent to get out of her country and come to ours. Illegal as she might will be if she does that, she knows, from news of her friends in Malaysia, that it is a greener pasture over here, despite them being illegals.

The USD6k paid to the agent will not cover airfare of 5 star stay. Instead, in her own words, she said,

"we were bundled up in this fishing boat, sitting down on the deck, with our legs wrapped by our own hand, the tip of my toe touches the back of the person infront of me, and i could feel the toes of the person behind me, on my left and right were my countrymen and women, shoulder touching shoulder, there is so many of us escaping our own homeland. We were covered with a piece of cloth to conceal us on the deck"

no Star Cruises standard

And when they reach the Thai water, they were asked to jump off the boat and hide in the mangrove and moments later, they were asked to swim abroad and resume position again. Apaprently, they have to do this everytime the Thai Navy boat come close...Those that are not fast enough to be back into the boat are left behind.

Upon reaching our country's border up north, they were asked to jump off the boat and ran into the jungle into a holding hut.

In the hut, there were many of her own country men, women and babies, again, all locked inside, sitting in the same exact position as in the boat. She said an old man died inside the hut but the agent did not open the door at all.

2 days later, they were asked to leave in batches of 10s. Putting them inside the Toyota Landcruiser Ninja Turtle (for those that knows, it's actually the biggest landcruiser made by Toyota, aptly named Ninja Turtle because it looked like one) which were heavily tinted. They sat behind, 4 person on the seat, then 3 person ontop of the 4 person, then 2 person ontop of the 3 person and finally 1 person ontop of the 2 person, forming a human pyramid. They lost count of the hours in the landcruiser as it was too comfortable, compared to the huts and boats.

This one...

...Not these...

Along the way, they were dropped off one by one and was told to wait in the bush/jungle until a certain car came, then they have to rush inside cars which were described to them and hide in the back seat.

This time, only a maximum of 4 person in the car.

One by one, as the car was moving, an accomplice in the front seat will open the back door and push them out.

This woman found herself smack in the middle of Jalan Alor.

Jalan Alor in relation to the Golden Triangle

Just like magic, still looking dazed, a few fellow countrymen came to her and said, "you just arrived?" in their mothertongue.

She was brought to this flat, where many others like her are housed. They are now officially illegals in Malaysia.

This woman, after 2 weeks, decided to head to the UNHCR and told her story. Upon investigation and verifying of her side of story, she was given a pass, which denotes her being a refugee. She will now wait for her turn to be deported to country like Denmark, Sweden, Finland and many others that takes in refugees.

They sleep head to toe in the flat which houses so many of them it's not funny. Everyone chip in to pay the expensive rent to the local man which owns the place.

But while waiting for her turn to go, she can't work as her rufugee status do not allow her too do so legally.

So, what's she's gonna live in?

For months since she first landed here in Malaysia, she is still an illegal immigrant with a refugee status and she is working as a dishwasher to earn enough to feed herself and take care of herself.

First thing she bought was a pair of sandal, as she has given hers to a mohter with a baby when they were running in the jungle.

Hearing her story from a third party (Close to me, so, rest assured, no salt, pepper was added to give the story above an extra zing), it makes me so happy and glad and grateful that i'm borned, grew up and will bring my own kids up in this country called MALAYSIA.

Nevermind how much Siti, Mawi, Ina, Dato K they show on national TV, i can live with that compared to what the woman has to go through.

I'm grateful, are you?

Happy Merdeka Day!!!

My reliable source: stupe's blog you know, the guy from explorerace? he was on tv you know.

Merdeka!

The time of independence has come!
Merdeka!Merdeka!Merdeka! So today’s special since its ‘Merdeka’ I will take on a serious approach today as a sign of respect to this special day. So with ought further ado
Terimalah rintihanku setebus rosa di hujung sore.
(If you don’t like literature please skip the quote)

(I quote)

Merdeka. This one word spells the many hopes and dreams of many fellow Malaysians regardless of race here in this multi-racial society. For me it is a time of refection deep into ones soul. What really are our priorities? Are we doing our best for our place of birth. A land that has raised me to be person I am today? I admit I am a strangely patriotic person. No doubt it is the way I was raised or my tutoring here in Rmc no one can say for sure but I feel a strange pride not only when this day of remembrance comes but also everyday during the many stages of my life. Coming to this day which is sadly only 2 months away from my major O-level examinations my feeling of need to contribute to my nation swells in my chest. But I am but and inadequate peon in the mass of multi-racial, multi-cultural citizens that make up the demographic soup that is Malaysia that I fear any withstanding contributions I make now will hardly make a dent or even stain the fabric that is Malaysia’s progression in the global field. Even if I get straight A’s it is but a mark, a yard stick to test me for greater things to come. Looking back at my inadequacy only fuels my desire to succeed and serve my nation for the better. Unfortunately saying isn’t the same as doing. For to long am I plagued with the devil of sleep often falling under long periods of unconsciousness in class. For to long the lure of technology ensnared me for many hours to the end. Yes the material world beckons me with the fruits it has to give. But I have a weak heart and succumb easily to the simple pleasures of life. But this special day seems to have enflamed my spirits once more. I now am determined to finish that with I have started. My simple goal of scoring in my O-levels can only lead me to greater things and this is one of the many stepping stones that will lead me along life’s path.

(End quote)

Phew that was tiring. Wow pretty impressed with my self. I think I will print it out and give it to my English teacher. Well today my school is having a count down to Merdeka so plenty of food, fireworks and jest are to be expected. Await the pics which I hope shall materialize. So anyways Merdeka isn’t over yet and with my burning spirit I shall continue living life to the fullest.

Damn Jellyfish and no holidays! Feel like dying!

Yes! At long last my company line has an internet connection! Halleluiah! So let us review my life over the last couple of weeks. Let’s see… My last post was on the 2nd that makes it 22 WHOLE days with ought internet at my line! (Where I sleep). Lol I used up most of the time in between making daily trips to the library but let’s face it, all those missed meals were starting to affect my heath and well being. Face it; I am addicted to the net.

Well on the cheerier side my school recently held an inter company marching comp. which I thankfully didn’t enter (ahh the wonders of seniorship).

Right after that my company set off to a trip to somewhere called Teluk Batik for my company picnic. Of all the forms of transportation they had to supply us, they gave us 3-ton trucks!

Man imagine riding on those things for 5 hours straight? We have 3 busses for crying out loud. Well it went well. Arrived played dodgeball, foolball etc.

Stopped at Teluk Intan on the way

The famous leaning tower of Malaysia

Football
Dodgeball

In action

Waay to vrowded was hit after this.

Penyu(turtle)

Sand Sculptures albiet living and obscene ones.

Swim in the ocean. !#$%^ jellyfish.

then I stupidly got stung by a Jellyfish.

Yes a fricking jellyfish. That thing just came and got stuck on my shoulder. Hurt like hell. It felt like someone gave me a very unfriendly slap. Well my hand swelled up like a balloon and I couldn’t move it around freely. To make things worse I was quite far from the beach. Using all the swimming skills I knew I swam like mad to the shore. Soon a crowed gathered around me. Some said piss on it but no way am I going to let anyone piss on me. Then some idiot rubbed sand on it causing it to shafe ahh the sting. My hand bloating up I just ran to one of those shop people and asked for help. Instead he recommended I buy a can of coke from his stall and pour it all over my wound. Like hell I would waste such valuable coke so I just went to the hospital.

The End. I Man I am starting to hate the beach. Well went to the hospital got some Jabs got sprayed with something and made it back in time for dinner. Man I thought it would have been worse.

well thank goodness for stingose.

Well made a bon fire and sat by the shore for a bit then we hit the local night scene yeah baby! Played some pool guzzled some beer (expensive 10 bucks a bottle luckily got someone belanja lol). Then retired to a mat spread out on the beach just chatting and listing to the soft strums of the guitar. But my hopes of finding girls at this place was shattered. This is no Teluk Chempedak (a famous maksiat place in Malaysia). First of all it’s full of Indians! Yes even though it’s a Malay area, it’s full with them playing Tamil songs trough out the nigh more than enough to scare away anyone. And another it’s full of gay homo man! There are bapuks everywhere here! Man this place is creepy. Well some my friends got accosted and sexually harassed. Well the only thing I can disclose is that the offending bapuk got badly beaten up and had his wallet lightened. Well made it back to college i am glad to say.

Well after that has been a pretty boring time here at rmc. Classes and more classes. Well sorry to say I got no holidays at all! When all others are merry i am still stuck at school sob! To make things worse I haven’t taken my trial yet! Noooo. So better stop here and go and study. So till next time.

Ps: I will try to update more often.

Post Draught Forecast

It seems the boarding school I am in (Royal Military College) has cut internet access to us. So I am practically updating my blog through my mobile phone. In fact what I am typing now is meticulously written down through my keypad. So I am hard pressed enough in my situation. To tell you the truth the main reason they cut the line is the high volume of pornography being steamed into the computers. Well boys being boys that is. Well typing all this with the key pad I hard enough. But I read somewhere that this disabled woman wrote an entire book with only her toe. Well I hope they restore the internet connection soon. All this keypad bashing is gonna get me Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
